🚀 Hold for launch — post once Vieira's signage is up

These four call out the Vieira's Resort contest by name and have the link inline in the post (not "in comments" style). Wait until the signage at the station is confirmed, then pick a different one per group so they don't look identical.

⭐ Launch draft A · Full intro

🎣 Just launched something for the Delta fishing crew — deltafishtracker.com Real-time conditions for the Rio Vista corridor: tides, river flow, water temp (now tracking both Rio Vista and the Mokelumne near Isleton), wind, and a daily "bite score" that pulls it all together so you know before you load the boat. Also running a fishing contest with Vieira's Resort — biggest striper and biggest salmon win prizes, kicks off July 16. Enter your catch right on the site. Free to use, updates live, no login needed. Check it out and let me know what you think: https://deltafishtracker.com

Launch draft B · Short and casual

🎣 Built a free bite tracker for the Rio Vista/Delta corridor — tides, water temp, river flow, wind, all on one screen so I stop juggling four apps every morning. Bonus: running a striper/salmon contest with Vieira's Resort starting July 16 — biggest fish wins. Enter right on the site. No login, just open it: https://deltafishtracker.com

Launch draft C · "Got tired of..." story

Anyone else sick of checking five different apps before heading out? Tides Near Me, then USGS flow, then Windy, then a water temp site, then guessing... So I built one page that pulls it all together for the Rio Vista corridor — live tides, flow, water temp (tracking both Rio Vista and the Mokelumne near Isleton now), wind, and a daily bite score. Also kicked off a striper/salmon contest with Vieira's Resort (starts July 16) — log your catch right on the site for a shot at the prize. Free, no app download, no signup: https://deltafishtracker.com Would genuinely love feedback from the crew — what's missing?

Launch draft D · Contest-first, urgency

🏆 Heads up Delta crew — Vieira's Resort contest kicks off July 16: biggest striper and biggest salmon win prizes. I built a free tracker to go with it — deltafishtracker.com — live tides, water temp, river flow, wind, and a bite score so you know before you load the boat. Enter your catch straight on the site once it opens. Free, no login required. Check the conditions and get ready: https://deltafishtracker.com

🔥 Salmon opener post (use July 14–16)

Salmon opens Wednesday July 16th — first full Sacramento season since 2023. 2 fish a day, 4 in possession, any size. Runs through December 16. This is going to be a busy summer on the river. I built a free Delta tracker that pulls live tides, river flow, water temp, wind and solunar windows into one page — already covering stripers, salmon hotspots are in there now too. Same-day cleaning-station reports from Vieira's Resort coming through it. No app, no signup. Open it on your phone. Link in the comments 👇

⭐ Garmin proof post (use with fish-finder photo)

Tracker led me right to this spot in front of Vieira's Resort this morning. 🎣 Bite score lit up before sunrise so I launched out — 20 ft of water, 2.5 mph troll, 57° water, and the screen lit up. Bait stacked tight to the bottom on a ledge, stripers holding 5-15 ft up in the column waiting to ambush. This is exactly what the free Delta tracker I built tries to predict — live tides, water temp, river flow, wind, solunar, and a 0-100 bite score that pulls it all together. 3-day window planner so you know when to launch. No app, no signup, just open it on your phone. Link in the comments 👇

Hey — built a free Delta bite tracker for stripers. Check it before your next trip: https://deltafishtracker.com Please send this to your friends.

Draft 1 · Lead with today's bite score

Bite score this morning is 76 on the Rio Vista corridor — tide turning at 9:23, water temp 62°, wind dropping to 8 by noon. I built a free page that pulls all this together so I'm not opening 4 apps every morning. Updates live from NOAA, USGS and the weather service. Even shows the best bite windows for the next 3 days. No signup, no app store, just open it on your phone. Would love feedback from fellow Delta guys — what would you add? Link in the comments 👇

Draft 2 · "Got tired of..." story

Got tired of this routine: open Tides Near Me, then USGS Water, then Windy, then check the moon phase, then guess. Every. Single. Morning. So I built one page that does all of it for the Rio Vista corridor — live tides, river flow, water temp, wind, solunar, plus a 0–100 bite score and a 3-day window planner. Free, no app to download. Built for stripers and salmon (opener July 16, first full season in 3 years). Sturgeon coming. Looking for honest feedback from the crew. Link in the comments 👇

Draft 3 · Short and direct

Free Delta bite tracker — Rio Vista corridor. Live tides, water temp, river flow, wind, solunar. 0–100 bite score. 3-day window planner. No signup, no app, works on your phone. Built it for myself, sharing in case it helps anyone else. Link below 👇

Draft 4 · Friendly intro (original)

Built a free Delta conditions tracker — looking for feedback from fellow striper guys. Got tired of opening 4 different apps every morning, so I put it all in one screen: live tides, river flow, water temp, wind, solunar and a 0–100 bite score. Plus a 3-day planner that shows the best bite windows so you can pick when to launch. Link in the comments 👇

Subject: Free Delta fishing tracker — wanted your eyes on it Hey, Spent the weekend building a free conditions page for the Rio Vista corridor — live tides, river flow, water temp, wind and solunar all in one place, with a 0–100 bite score and 3-day window planner. No signup, just open it on your phone. Would really value your feedback before I expand the coverage area or add salmon/sturgeon. Anything missing? Wrong? Hard to read? https://deltafishtracker.com Thanks, Roger

Posting playbook

What works for niche tools in fishing communities.

Facebook do's & don'ts

  1. Always put the link in the first comment, not the post body. Facebook downranks outside links in the body.
  2. One group per hour. Posting in 3-5 groups in 5 minutes can get you flagged for spam.
  3. Reply to every comment within minutes. Active engagement boosts the post in feeds.
  4. Vary your post text. Use Draft 1 in one group, Draft 2 in another — Facebook flags duplicate content.
  5. Best posting times: 5-8am (anglers planning the day), 5-9pm (anglers planning tomorrow), Sunday 9-11am (peak weekend scroll).
  6. If you can, drop a screenshot of the tracker in the post body. Visual posts get 3-5x the click-through.

TikTok do's & don'ts

  1. Authentic > polished. Phone-shot, slightly shaky, real Roger talking = wins. Over-edited = punished.
  2. 15-30 seconds is the sweet spot. Longer videos die unless they're great.
  3. Show your screen at some point. 5-10 seconds of the tracker visible while you talk = visual proof.
  4. Ask a question in the caption. Comments train the algorithm to push you out further.
  5. Post 3-5 videos before judging. First video almost always underperforms.
  6. Best times to post: 6-9am, 12-1pm, 7-10pm Pacific.

What to watch on the dashboard

  1. Returning visitors — even 5 returners beats 50 one-timers. Means it's actually useful.
  2. Time-of-day pattern — hits at 5-7am or 6-8pm = real anglers checking conditions. Random midday = curiosity browsing.
  3. Mobile vs desktop — >70% mobile is the right user. Desktop = friend on a work computer.
  4. Top referrers — tells you which Facebook group is sending the most traffic. Double down on the winner.

Validation thresholds for next build

  1. 20+ visits + 1 real comment + mostly mobile = build the community board feature.
  2. Less than 20 visits = adjust the post copy, hit different groups, ask 5 buddies directly.
  3. 50+ visits + multiple shares = strong signal, plan the app version.
